The Chelsea Symphony at Rikers Island – Article by Richard Beales
We – my colleagues and I from The Chelsea Symphony – were honored to be able to play chamber music for clarinet and strings at two facilities on New York City’s Rikers Island.
The experience for the performers, inmates and staff was inspiring, unexpected, and life-changing. The joy that ALL of us felt that day made a very sunny day even brighter!
I am a viola- and flute-playing extra in Amazon’s Mozart in the Jungle!
